Doctrinal Statement (Alphabetically arranged)
Baptism
I
believe in the ordinance of Christian baptism by water in the name of the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Baptism is a public witness to faith in Christ and pictures the
identification of the believer in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. I believe baptism should be a requirement for church
membership.

The Bible
I
believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. God has given
us a written record of His work in this world in order that we may know Him and
live for Him. The Bible is our rule of faith, our source of spiritual
nourishment and means of growth. I believe that without the Holy Spirit living
in us and guiding us we cannot fully appreciate, understand or apply the
Scriptures.

5:12-14 Psalm 119:130; Isaiah 55:11; Jeremiah 15;16
Creation
I
believe in the Genesis account of the creation. I believe that man was created
directly in God's own image and after His own likeness. I do not believe
mankind evolved or has evolved.
Genesis 1:27; 2:21, 22; 1 Corinthians 11:8,
9; 15:45; 1Timothy 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:13; 2 Peter 3:3
Communion
I
believe Jesus instituted communion as a means to remember His life and death
until He returns for us. I believe the early church celebrated communion when
they met on the first day of the week, and perhaps much more often.
Matthew 16:26-28; Luke 22:14-20; Mark
14:22-24; 1Corinthians 10:16; 11:23-29
The Devil, or Satan
I
believe that Satan is a real spiritual being, a deceiver, and the father of all
lies. He is the malignant prince of the power of the air and the evil god of
this world. He is mankind’s greatest
enemy, the enemy of God and Christ, and the accuser of the saints. He is destined to final defeat at the hands
of God's Son and sent to eternal hell, a place of torment prepared for him and
his angels.

Giving
I
believe that giving should support the local church and its outreaches. We are
to give both our time and resources to expand the ministry of the church. I
also believe in complete transparency of the use of finances.

God
I
believe that the Bible teaches us that there is only one God and that He is triune. We are to acknowledge and worship the Father as God, Jesus Christ
as God, and the Holy Spirit as God. Our God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and
present everywhere. He is all good, loving, full of mercy, just, and holy.

Hell
The
Bible teaches that hell is a place that was created for the devil and his
followers. It also teaches that it is the eternal abode of those who die apart
from Christ. It is a place of unimaginable torment and suffering. Jesus warned
people about hell and died to save people from hell.
Matthew 5:22-30; 25:41; 10:28; Mark 3:29;
16:16; Luke 16:23; John 5:29; 1 Peter 2:4; Revelation 20:14, 15
The Holy Spirit
I
believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person equal with God the Father and
God the Son. I believe that He was
active in creation and is now active in the work of convicting, regenerating,
empowering, instructing, sanctifying, and ultimately the glorification of each
believer. I believe that every believer
from the moment of regeneration is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and baptized
into the body of Christ by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person and can be
talked to, blasphemed, lied to, received or resisted, grieved, and worshiped.

Jesus Christ
I
believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous
manner; born of Mary, a virgin and that He is both the Son of God and God the
Son. I believe in the literal bodily resurrection of Christ, that He rose
again the third day according to the Scriptures. After manifesting Himself for forty days to
His disciples, He ascended to His Father's right hand where, as our great High
Priest, He is preparing a place for us and praying for us. I believe that
according to His promise He will come again without sin unto salvation; and
that His coming will be personal, visible, and glorious. I believe that He
alone is the Savior and that apart from Him there is no salvation.

7:25; Titus 2:13; 1 Timothy 2:5
Mankind
I
believe that man was created a perfect being in the image of God. When our first parents disobeyed God mankind
lost spiritual life and became dead in trespasses and sins. I believe that this spiritual death has
been transmitted to the entire human race and that every child of Adam
is born into the world with a sinful nature.
Man is a sinner by nature and by practice and is, therefore, under the
just condemnation of God.

11:32; Galatians 3:23; Job 15:14-16; 1 John 1:8-10; Ezekiel 18:20a
Marriage
I
believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. A marriage
is to be recognized by the government and witnessed accordingly. Any sexual
relationship outside of the bonds of marriage constitutes sexual immorality and
is forbidden and condemned in the Scriptures.
The relationship between a man and his wife is to portray the relationship
between Christ and the church.
Genesis 1:27, 28; 2:24; Proverbs 5:15-23
Matthew 19:8; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5 Ephesians 5:22-28 Colossians 3:18, 19 Hebrews
13:4; 1Peter 3:1-7
Salvation
I
believe that the Bible clearly teaches that our salvation is provided for by
the sacrificial death of Jesus in our behalf and is to be obtained by placing
our faith in Him and being born again.
Ephesians 2:8,9; John 3:3,15-18, 36; 5:24; 6:29,35;
Acts 13:39; 16:31; Romans 3:24; 4:16; 10:9,10; Colossians 2:12
The Second Coming of Jesus
I
believe the Bible teaches the second coming of Christ. I teach that He will come
one more time and only once. We will have trials and tribulations in this life
but I do not believe the Bible teaches a future
tribulation period or a millennial kingdom as is commonly taught. I believe
the popular views of the end times are man-made schemes and thwart the clear meaning of
the Word of God. I also recognize that
end-times teachings can be very difficult to wade through and come to an
understanding. My basic understanding and teaching is as follows:
The next major event will be the second
coming of Christ which will take place when the Lord Jesus returns at the last
trumpet with a shout and the voice of the archangel. The dead in Christ will be
raised, the living saints will be raptured and the judgment of all mankind will
take place. After the judgment, the righteous will enter into heaven and the
lost will be condemned to eternal damnation.

Worship
I
believe our lives are to be lived for the glory of God. Everything we think,
say, and do should be an act of worship. When we meet together we have the great
privilege of worshiping God in song, Our worship is more than our singing, it
is a state of our hearts.
